How is Minneapolis tap water made and delivered to homes, schools and businesses? Join Water Bar volunteer Water Tenders for an early morning tour of the Minneapolis Drinking Water Facility. You'll get an up close look at where our City's tap water is drawn from the Mississippi River, and how it is filtered and treated before it is sent out through network of pipes that span the City of Minneapolis and nearby communities.
Following the tour, we will make and take a simple print to further connect this experience with our own river relationships & stories.
This tour is FREE and open to all, but you need to pre-register! If you'd like to join us, send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and contact information. Participants under age 18 need to be accompanied by a guardian.
This tour is part of a new program of education and community experiences for Water Bar volunteers and others in our community who #ServeWater To learn more about our volunteer program visit this page.
