We serve water — both literally, and figuratively — at Water Bar, and through other creative projects, programs, and partnerships.
We build relationships by creating social spaces that reveal the interdependence of ecology, place, community, and culture.
We transform culture by re-centering water in public life through the frameworks of service, care, and collaboration.
Water Bar & Public Studio is an artist-led public benefit corporation.
We serve water, build relationships, and transform culture through the creation of social spaces, popular education, leadership development, and public art projects.

A storefront social space focused on water, culture, and local ecology.
Our work is cross-sector, place-based, and artist-led.
We work with other individuals, organizations, and networks to uncover and enhance the cultural value of water in our lives and places.
Governments & PUBLIC Utilities
We equip policymakers, government agency staff, and public utilities to creatively engage the people they serve. We utilize our Water Bar pop-up, as well as custom-designed workshops, public engagements, and other creative services.
Arts & Culture
We collaborate with other artists and arts-based organizations to develop public art projects and programs at the intersection of art and environmental eduction, engagement, and advocacy.
We collaborate with water and environmental advocacy organizations to host and staff Water Bar pop-ups, and to develop other creative strategies for engaging existing and new environmental advocates.
We work with educators, administrators, and students to create transformative learning experiences. We emphasize methods drawn from arts-based community development, place-based participatory research, and service learning.
We work with a range of businesses to develop their understanding and commitment to water quality and sustainability by designing engagement projects with and for employees, customers, and communities.
Community Benefit Organizations
In collaboration with neighborhood and community organizations, we develop projects that engage local residents in community-based planning, policy, and education for environment and community resilience.
