Inspiration, resources, and a community of support for art and environment projects.

Are you looking for a place to research, develop, or present art or other public work? Water Bar & Public Studio is a place where artists interested in water, environment, ecology, and place can find a home, a space to work, and a community of practice.

Water Bar hosts and supports artists, science professionals, activists, community organizers, students, and other community residents with self-designed research projects. These can be art projects, public programs, exhibitions, or other activities in development. Residents utilize our space, studio tools, media platforms, and our cross-sector network to realize their own creative project. We learn from these projects, and also invite our community to lear too. Each residency includes an agreement to offer at least one public workshop, lecture, service project, or other publicly-oriented offering.

Whether you're looking to connect to science researchers, learn new art and design skills, host a storytelling event, find creative inspiration, or partner with others on a project, we want to support you in whatever ways we can! We can also present or sell your artwork through our storefront.

Say hello and tell us what you're up to, how we might help, and if you are interested in a Reciprocal Research Residency or other opportunities to connect!
